Michele Pirro finished in first place the second MotoGP free practice. Only four riders set a time in a slippery track.
Ducati rider Michele Pirro finished the second MotoGP free practice session in first position. The session had not so much activity due to a wet track and only four riders had set a time when the practice finished.
After the light rain that fell just at the end of the Moto3 practice, several riders joined the track to check the track status. They came out with wet tires and tried not to take risks.
This was followed by a period of inactivity, as the track was not in optimal conditions to ride. Other riders joined the track to check the conditions, but they got the same result.
With 16 minutes left, Colin Edwards was the first rider out on slicks tyres. Still, the track conditions were far from ideal and the activity continued stopped.
The rain fell again and Nicky Hayden came out with wet tyres. The American stayed on track and was determined to make several laps, like his teammate Hiroshi Aoyama. Pol Espargaró also came out, but didn’t complete a lap.
In the last five minutes, and with a wet track, several drivers came out to set a time. Hayden and Aoyama were the first riders to set a time. Alvaro Bautista was placed between the two Aspar bikes. Michele Pirro was the one who set the fastest lap when the chequered flag fell. Pirro, Hayden, Bautista and Aoyama were the ones who finished the session with a time.
