Pirelli shares the sets of tyres that each of the 11 F1 teams have requested for the Barcelona shakedown, which is to take place next week.
The shakedown at Barcelona will take place between January 26 and 30, with five days for 11 F1 teams to run their 2026 cars. But teams will have only three days to run from the five, whichever day they want to. The five days is a spread handed out by the FIA to help them run whenever they want.
Like McLaren has confirmed that they will not run on Day 1. Additionally, Williams has confirmed that it won’t take part at all in the Barcelona shakedown. Instead, they will do VTT to prepare after delays in getting the car ready, with reports suggesting weight issues with the FW48.
Apart from Williams, no other team has either confirmed or denied their presence. It is expected that all the 10 teams will be part of it – at least seven of them would be considering their filming run. The likes of Audi, Cadillac, Visa Cash App RB, Alpine, Mercedes, Ferrari and Haas, have completed a run already.
There are voices that Red Bull is ready, as is McLaren, but there is nothing yet from Aston Martin. Things will be clear from Monday onward when the shakedown begins. The sessions will not be televised since it is a closed event, with only highlights to be shared by the F1 teams and also FOM.
F1 also confirmed that the second test in Bahrain will be televised, but only for the last hour on each day. The third and final test at the same venue will be televised fully. For the second test, it is a change of earlier decision, where the full test was supposed to be televised.
On the tyre front, Pirelli has released details of the choices of all the 11 teams since they had to list out the tyre request way before any current changes. That’s why Williams is also listed on the chart, which features the C1, C2 and C3 compounds, along with intermediate and wet.
The C4 and C5 compounds will not be available to the F1 teams. There are a total of 25 sets which includes both slick and wet compounds. On C1 side, only McLaren (4), Mercedes (8), Ferrari (4), Aston Martin (3), Audi (2), Alpine (2) and Cadillac (4), have opted to use it.
On C2, apart from Mercedes, every other team has opted for at least one set. Ferrari leads the pack with 12 sets, followed by McLaren (10) & Aston Martin (10), Alpine (9), Visa Cash App RB (6), Audi (6) & Cadillac (6), Williams (4) & Haas (4) and Red Bull (1).
The C3 compound is the highest option for all, with Red Bull leading with 18 sets, followed by Williams (17), Haas (13), Mercedes (12) & Visa Cash App RB (12), Audi (10) & Cadillac (10), Alpine (9), Aston Martin (7), McLaren (6) and Ferrari (3).
In terms of the intermediates, Haas has opted for six sets, followed by Visa Cash App RB (5), McLaren (4), Mercedes (4), Red Bull (4), Ferrari (4), Aston Martin (4), Audi (4), Alpine (4) & Cadillac (4) and Williams (3).
And the wet compound has Audi in the lead with three sets. They are followed by Red Bull (2), Ferrari (2), Visa Cash App RB (2) & Haas (2) and McLaren (1), Mercedes (1), Williams (1), Aston Martin (1), Alpine (1) & Cadillac (1).
