Photo/Video: Red Bull shares Honda livery as details of future revealed

Red Bull has unveiled the special -all-white livery for Honda which they will use during the F1 Turkish GP.

After confirming of the special Honda livery on Wednesday, Red Bull unveiled the full livery on Thursday that they will use during the Turkish GP. The predominantly white colour scheme is inspired by the Japanese manufacturer’s RA272 car.

The car led Honda to their first F1 win in 1965 Mexican GP. The livery is infused with Red Bull’s corporate colours of red and yellow, while it also carries a thank you note for their Japanese partner in their native language.

While the senior F1 outfit’s livery is here, AlphaTauri is yet to unveil their mpdification, where they are to carry the thank you note on the rear wing. Aside the livery reveal, Honda shared the terms and conditions of their partnership from 2022 onward.

As known, Red Bull Powertrain will use the Honda IP from 2022 F1 season for their senior team and AlphaTauri. The new deal sees support from the Japanese manufacturer for next year, while from 2023 it will be the sole work of the RBP team.

The three key points shared by the Japanese manufacturer are:

The co-operation between Red Bull Junior Team and Honda Formula Dream Project will continue on, with the idea to promote the growth of motorsport in Japan. There will be more of marketing activities between the two companies to reach wider audience.

On Honda side, all of their racing activities will be handled by Honda Racing Corporation, which has successfully handled its motorcycle operations for years. It will be HRC who will support Red Bull in 2022 as mentioned above.

“I’m glad that we have reached an agreement with Red Bull Group covering all the details of the IP rights for the F1 Power Unit and in this way, Honda can still contribute to the motor racing world,” said Koji Watanabe. “We are now working hard to strengthen HRC’s structure, so that it can ensure our fans will be able to continue to enjoy Honda’s role in all types of motorsport.”

At the same time, Christian Horner added: “Red Bull’s collaboration with Honda has been enormously successful and while our relationship in Formula 1 is changing, neither of us wish for that to be the end of the story. We are very pleased that our ambitious and exciting Red Bull Powertrains project will be strongly supported by Honda, technically and operationally, in 2022 and this will help ensure that Red Bull’s transition to the status of chassis and power unit manufacturer is seamless.

“Equally as exciting is the news that our collaboration with Honda will extend to a variety of motorsport activities, from driver development to other racing disciplines and even across the wider sporting world. This stretch of Honda’s Formula 1 voyage is coming to an end but together we are embarking on a new and fascinating journey.”
