Briton has taken his maiden victory in the Monegasque circuit but his third win of the season in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, which helps him to take the championship lead. Podium positions were competed by Fenestraz and Defourny.

Will Palmer (R-ace GP) started from pole position and was able to keep the first place during the start and the whole race despite the pressure of Sacha Fenestraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) –who would finish second.

The interesting battle of the race was for the last step of the podium between the R-ace GP team mates, Robert Shwartzman and Max Defourny. Defourny after several laps driving behind the Russian, made a manoeuvre at the outside of Massenet over the SMP Racing backed driver to take the last step of the podium with one lap and a half to go.

Finishing as best rookie in fifth position was Richard Verschoor (MP Motorsport) who at the start of the race was able to overtake his team mate in Red Bull Junior Team, Dan Ticktum (Arden Motorsport) who was finally sixth.

Completing points positions: Alex Peroni (Fortec Motorsports), Gabriel Aubry (Tech 1 Racing), Alexey Korneev (Fortec Motorsports) and Alexander Vartanyan (JD Motorsport).

The race was clean without safety car appearances, only some yellow flag appearances due to the retirements of Thomas Neubauer (Tech 1 Racing) and Presley Martono (Mark Burdett Motorsport).

With the victory Will Palmer is back in the lead of the championship with 129 points, 12 more than Shwartzman. In third position is Fenestraz with 39 points less while Defourny is up to fourth with 66 points less than Palmer.
