Pagenaud once again on pole in Detroit

Simon Pagenaud will start again from pole position for the second race of the weekend in Detroit, on the Belle Isle circuit. The French ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves.

With the threat of rain, qualifications had to be advanced by 15 minutes and reduced to only two 12-minute groups. In the first group, Jack Hawksworth hit the wall while Josef Newgarden was stopped in the third turn. That did not stop Simon Pagenaud to sign the record of the track in 1’14 “4104. In the second group is Will Power who had the fastest time before being penalized for having blocked Marco Andretti, his two best laps in the event have been removed. So that in the top of the timesheets include Ryan Hunter-Reay was slower than Pagenaud, while Power had to settle for the fourth line. Winner yesterday, Sebastien Bourdais will leave that for the sixth row.
