Simon Pagenaud will start again from pole position for the second race of the weekend in Detroit, on the Belle Isle circuit. The French ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves.
With the threat of rain, qualifications had to be advanced by 15 minutes and reduced to only two 12-minute groups.
