Lando Norris keeps showing his talent with a new pole position for the first race of the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at Estoril, Portugal. The Brit took a risky strategy with the dry tyres in order to get pole. Rookies Palmer and Fenestraz completed the top 3.

The 30-minutes session started with a tricky wet track. These tricky conditions brought Frank Bird to cause a red flag. James Allen (JD Motorsport) took provisional pole positional after the restart, but the champion of the series, Lando Norris (Josef Kaufmann Racing), who decided to use the dry compound, improved Allen‘s time by 2 seconds.

This risky strategy paid off, since the rain came back in the last minutes. Will Palmer (R-ace GP) followed him 1.3s behind, while Fenestraz was 3rd. Rookies Vartanyan (Fortec Motorsports) and Marcus Armstrong (R-ace GP) surprised on P5 and P6.
