Lando Norris has dominated the third race of the FIA ??Formula 3 European championship weekend at the circuit Park of Zandvoort, in The Netherlands. The Briton has led a one-two for Carlin with Ferdinand Habsburg second. Günther completes the podium.
Lando Norris (Carlin) was starting from pole position and has dominated the race from start to finish. The Briton has had no rival and has clearly won over his teammate Ferdinand Habsburg (Carlin).
The Prema have been unable to do anything to avoid the Carlin one-two with Maximilian Günther and Guanyu Zhou finishing third and fourth. The fifth position could have been for the Prema of Callum Ilott who has had to change the front wing.
The fifth position has been taken by the British Jake Hughes (Hitech GP) after defending driving during the whole race, He managed to secure the position. Behind him finished the Van Amersfoort Racing of Pedro Piquet and Harrison Newey.
Ralf Aron (Hitech GP) finished eighth after defending the entire race of his teammate Nikita Mazepin who would finally be surpassed by Joey Mawson (Van Amersfoort Racing) for ninth place finish.
The drama has been lived out of the points position between the MotoPark drivers, David Beckmann and Joel Eriksson who have completed a weekend to forget, and that affect so much the aspirations of the Swede to win the championship.
Norris managed to win the race with authority, his seventh of the season within the 21 races so far, and build a gap in the drivers’ championship with 11 points ahead of Günther. Eriksson third, is 55 points away while Ilott is far behind, He is 92 points away from his compatriot.
