Nolan Siegel, the young 21-year-old Californian driver, has not closed the door on his ambition to compete in IndyCar. After a two-and-a-half-year stint with the Arrow McLaren team, where he achieved three top-10s and a best result of sixth place in Washington D.C., Siegel is preparing to tackle the driver market with the goal of securing a seat for the 2027 season.
With options for next year becoming increasingly limited, available seats remain confined to AJ Foyt Racing, Dale Coyne Racing, and Juncos Hollinger Racing. Despite his impressive record in sports car racing, including a victory in the LMP2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024, Siegel asserts that his first choice remains IndyCar.
Siegel looks to combine a place in IndyCar with as many IMSA events as possible, but his focus is clearly on the single-seater series. ‘I have worked hard throughout my career to reach IndyCar, so I haven’t given up on that dream yet,’ Siegel commented.
Recently, speculation arose about his connection to a new private car for JDC-Miller MotorSports during Petit Le Mans, but Siegel clarified that his attention is focused on IndyCar. ‘I am not in the second car of JDC. There are many great teams in IMSA that I would like to join, but IndyCar is my priority,’ the driver emphasized.
Reflecting on his experience with Arrow McLaren, Siegel expresses deep gratitude for his personal and professional growth. He learned to separate his personal performance from external factors such as race strategy. ‘I am proud of my personal growth; by the end of last season, I felt like I was at my best,’ he concluded.
