Noel Leon achieves consecutive victory in Monaco in F2 sprint race

Noel Leon, driver for Campos Racing, has once again excelled in the world of Formula 2 with an impressive victory in the sprint race held in Monaco. Leon, starting from pole position, led the race with authority, leaving behind DAMS driver Roman Bilinski.

At the start of the race, Leon turned his privileged position into a solid lead at the first corner, while the top four drivers, with Bilinski in front, maintained their places. Gabriele Mini and Joshua Duerksen were close behind them.

In the battle for 11th place, MP Motorsport’s Oliver Goethe and Hitech’s Ritomo Miyata provided an intense spectacle at corner 6. Despite Goethe’s initial effort, a possible punctured tire affected his performance, forcing him to lose positions later on.

Martinius Stenshorne stood out as the fastest driver on track, achieving the fastest lap on the second lap. Meanwhile, his teammate at Rodin Motorsport, Alex Dunne, fell from seventh to ninth place, out of scoring positions.

As the race progressed, the group of the top five distanced themselves from the rest, with a six-second margin after the eighth lap. Leon and Bilinski worked to extend their difference from Mini, who was trying to overtake Bilinski while maintaining his frustrated attempt to pass the leader.

The key moment came halfway through the race, when Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak and Miyata fought intensely for 11th position, with Miyata executing a spectacular maneuver on the inside of corner 12. Meanwhile, Inthraphuvasak was forced to withdraw due to a technical issue.

At the front, Leon proved to be unbeatable, increasing his lead over Bilinski to 2.9 seconds on lap 27. In the final laps, his superiority was evident as he maintained the advantage, while Bilinski defended his honorary position from Mini and Duerksen.

Leon crossed the finish line with a 3.4 second advantage over Bilinski, who managed to keep his immediate competitors, Mini and Duerksen, at bay, thus closing out the top spots. Dino Beganovic completed the leading quintet, followed by Stenshorne, Maini, and Camara.
