Noah Stromsted has been confirmed as the second driver for Invicta Racing for the 2027 Formula 2 season. The Danish driver joins his Formula 3 teammate from 2026, Freddie Slater.
After two years competing with the Italian team Trident, Stromsted is making the jump to the higher category. In his first season at F3, he achieved his first victory in the sprint race at Spa-Francorchamps and finished the championship in sixth place, although he was outscored by his podium teammate, Rafael Camara.
The young driver, only 19 years old, joined the Mercedes-AMG F1 junior program in early 2025, but their paths diverged at the end of that year. In his second season with Trident, the situation became complicated. Although he managed to win the featured race at the Red Bull Ring, he ultimately classified in tenth position in the championship, with 80 points less than Slater, while the team lost some of the performance advantage it had enjoyed in previous years.
Regarding his new phase, Stromsted stated that he has learned a lot competing in FIA F3 since 2024 and feels prepared to face the new challenge. He added that Invicta Racing has established itself as a performance benchmark on the F2 grid and that he is excited to join the team.
James Robinson, director of Invicta Racing, expressed his enthusiasm for Stromsted’s arrival, emphasizing that F3 is one of the most competitive categories in junior motorsport. Robinson believes that Stromsted has all the qualities to become a future champion and hopes that the collaboration with Slater will be fruitful for both drivers.
