The German driver will need a new engine for China following the electronic failure his first power unit had in Bahrain.

After Sebastian Vettel was forced to retire on the formation lap, the Ferrari engineers have examined the engine and decided to change the power unit for the next Grand Prix in China.

According to the Scuderia, the engine broke due to a software failure in low revs which caused the breaking of a valve. Concerns on the reliability of the Ferrari engine are starting to grow, since Räikkönen had to retire in Australia and Vettel on the second race out of two events.
