The championship of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has entered a new phase following last Saturday’s race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With the points restart, the ‘win and advance’ system is behind us, and now the ten drivers with the most points after 18 races have reached the Chase phase.
From now on, points are reset, with bonuses awarded to drivers based on their position in the regular competition. The drivers fighting for the crown will face off in the next seven races, aiming to earn as many points as possible before the final at Homestead in November.
In the fight for the last spot, Tyler Ankrum managed to qualify by just seven points ahead of Stewart Friesen in an exciting finish.
