The competition of the Craftsman Truck Series at Richmond Raceway has had to be postponed due to bad weather conditions. The poor weather, which included lightning and recurring storms, forced NASCAR to make the decision after a long waiting period that lasted over two hours.

The race, known as the Black’s Tire 250 presented by BTS Rewards, will now take place at noon (EST) on Saturday. The schedule change also involves a modification in the broadcast: the duel can be followed live via FOX Sports 2, instead of FOX Sports 1, as initially planned.

Although NASCAR has rain tires available, the persistent impact of lightning and heavy rain made it impossible to start the race under these conditions. When the competition resumes, Shane van Gisbergen will lead the grid after achieving his first ‘pole’ in any NASCAR championship on an oval track. Kaden Honeycutt will join him in the front row, followed by Chandler Smith, Grant Enfinger, and Nick Leitz.

In addition to Van Gisbergen, Christopher Bell was also set to participate in two races this weekend, but he has decided to withdraw and will be replaced by Leland Honeyman, leaving Van Gisbergen as the only driver competing in 650 laps this weekend in Richmond.

The parking lots will open at 10 AM (EST) for spectators with Truck Series tickets, while the gates for Cup Series ticket holders will open at 2 PM. The Cup Series race is scheduled to start shortly after 7 PM (EST) on Saturday, with Ryan Blaney occupying the ‘pole’ position and Chase Briscoe beside him.
