The event at the WWT Raceway has left a spectacular image of the NASCAR Cup competition, with a record of 18 yellow flags. Despite the intensity of the race, Denny Hamlin remains the leaderboard’s leader, with only nine points ahead of his pursuers.
Kyle Larson, who achieved his first victory in 51 races, made a great comeback, moving into second place and putting pressure on Hamlin. In third place, Christopher Bell, winner of the Southern 500, is now 18 points behind the leader.
The drivers Chase Briscoe and Daniel Suarez have been the big losers of the day, descending in the standings, with Briscoe falling from fifth to eighth place and Suarez from thirteenth to sixteenth (last) in the Chase rankings.
As for the fight for the best of the rest, Shane van Gisbergen remains in sixteenth place, while Brad Keselowski and Ross Chastain have advanced with standout performances at Gateway.
The NASCAR Cup competition continues with the next race, which will take place at the Bristol Motor Speedway with a challenging format of 500 laps.
