Müller wins in Hard conditions and Magnussen increased his lead

Nico Müller has won a very difficult race at the Hungaroring Circuit, in Hungary, during the first race of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. He was followed on the podium by Kevin Magnussen who started sixteenth and Sergey Sirotkin, Sauber future driver.

This morning the classification has been intense with red flags caused by Arthur Pic (AV Formula), Zoël Amberg, Carlos Sainz and his teammate in Zeta Corse, Will Buller, in rainy conditions, similar to those of Motorland Aragon. These red flags have led to the times of these pilots were eliminated, and in addition to nine other pilots could not complete a lap during qualifying these 30 minutes, it finally left the doublet of International Draco Racing Andre Negrao first, followed by Nico Müller , Mikahil Aleshin (Tech 1 Racing ) , da Costa ( Arden Caterham ) , Stevens ( P1 by Strakka Racing) and Sergey Sirotkin (ISR ) . Just start , Carlos Sainz and Carlos Huertas (Carlin ) have gotten stuck on the grid although both were able to rejoin the race . After 5 laps with the safety car , Da Costa has tried to pass but the portugese touched Aleshin and the Russian and retired, Aleshin could continue but he was eleventh. Again on the next lap and the same curve was touched by Will Buller .
In the meantime Magnussen took advantage and was behind Vandoorne fighting for seventh place and easily anticipated. Stockinger (Lotus ) on the next lap suffered a spin , and Magnussen took the opportunity to get sixth. Then the Dane had a good fight with Melker (Tech 1 Racing ) finally came out of track and even overtook Vandoorne . Then the two fighting for the championship have overtaken Stevens.
In the lead, Negrao performed the first corner too open and his teammate Nico Müller climbed to the top position . Soon after, Magnussen kept and overtook Negrao three laps later, Sirotkin did the same, Vandoorne and Melker.
On the penultimate lap Aleshin surpassed his teammate Nigel Melker .
Finally deserved victory by Nico Müller , followed by Kevin Magnussen and Sergey Sirtokin on the podium. Fourth Vandoorne ended as Magnussen sees further escape in the championship, Aleshin was fifth who has traced very well after his accident with Da Costa that has costed him the podium. Melker finished sixth , followed by Sainz , Stevens , Pic and Laine completing the points .
