Fabio Quartararo beats Francesco Bagnaia by 0.028s to another MotoGP pole in 2025 in Dutch GP, as Alex Marquez was third.

Q1:

It was cloudy to start the first part in MotoGP qualifying in Dutch GP at Assen, where Trackhouse Aprilia’s Ai Ogura had an early tumble. There was also a bit of an argument between Yamaha’s Alex Rins and Tech 3 KTM’s Enea Bastianini, which was put under investigation.

After first run, Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez led the way with a 1m31.656s lap ahead of Honda’s Joan Mir – both in prime position to make it into Q2. Despite the fall, Ogura was third from Aprilia’s Lorenzo Savadori and Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller in the Top 5.

The second run saw Gresini Ducati’s Fermin Aldeguer improve to take top slot after his 1m31.637s lap. But Fernandez kept it late to retake the top slot after setting a 1m31.517s lap to make it into Q2. Mir improved to second, but Aldeguer improved by 0.004s to snatch second from the Honda rider.

He made it into Q2, dropping Mir to third to start 13th from Miller, with Savadori doing well in 15th from KTM’s Brad Binder, Bastianini, Pramac’ Miguel Oliveira and Rins. Ogura returned on the second bike to be only 20th, as Honda’s Aleix Espargaro and LCR Honda’s Somkiat Chantra rounded the 22 runners.

Q2:

The second part in MotoGP qualifying in Dutch GP at Assen saw Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo take the top spot and provisional pole after setting a 1m31.047s lap, which was 0.012s quicker than Ducati’s Francesoc Bagnaia, who managed to get ahead of teammate Marc Marquez.

Gresini’s Alex Marquez was fourth, with only 0.001s separating the two. Aprilia’s Marco Bezzechi rounded the Top 5 from the VR46 Ducati pair. The second run saw A Marquez dip into the 1m30s to go quickest, followed by M Marquez. Both Quartararo and Bagnaia too improved into the 1m30s.

It was Quartararo with yet another MotoGP pole in 2025 after his 1m30.651s lap in Dutch GP, as Bagnaia fell short by 0.028s to be second from A Marquez in the front row. M Marquez was thrown behind in fourth alongside Bezzecchi and VR46’s Franco Morbidelli.

Aldeguer was seventh coming from Q1, as VR46’s Fabio di Giannantonio slotted in eighth from KTM’s Pedro Acosta, Tech 3’s Maverick Vinales, Fernandez and LCR’s Johann Zarco to round out the Top 12 runners.
