MotoGP names Barcelona finale as ‘Solidarity GP’ as they release initial plan for securing donations for the people in Valencia.

MotoGP has announced that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host the 2024 finale, and that it will be an event that makes a difference: the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona. The Championship is on the line, the sporting spectacle is guaranteed, and so is the positive impact for the Community of Valencia as MotoGP unites to aid those in need.

Here are some of the initiatives planned as we go #RacingForValencia.

Tickets

Tickets for the Solidarity GP are now on sale HERE and over 30,000 have already sold in the first 24 hours! Barcelona was chosen as the venue for the finale in no small part thinking of fans who had made plans to come to Valencia, and they can now secure new tickets for the final round of 2024. Valencia will be offering full refunds or rollover tickets for 2025.

A portion of ticket sales from the Solidarity GP will go directly to Valencia relief funds, so fans know that just being in Barcelona to see sporting history made is also a direct contribution to recovery efforts in the neighbouring Community of Valencia.

Auctions

We’ll have three auctions across the weekend – two onsite and one online. The onsite auctions will be on Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 6pm local time and be held in the fanzone at the circuit. MotoGP riders will be taking to the stage, joined by Legends and VIPs, to auction some of the incredible items donated from across the paddock.

Fans from around the world can also take part in the online auction, where we have some true one-of-a-kind lots up for grabs in aid of the cause – we’re talking Maverick Viñales’ Moto3 Championship-winning bike as one of the first items put forward. More details on the online auction, including a full list of items as well as start and end dates, will be available soon. Fans who want to attend the onsite auctions can do so if they’re at the GP with any weekend ticket.

Donations

Can’t be there, can’t take part in the auction but want to be part of it? We’ll also be producing a special #RacingForValencia t-shirt, with proceeds going directly to the relief effort. Many in the paddock have also already donated and will continue to do so. The proceeds from our initiatives at the Solidarity GP, from ticket sales to the funds raised by the auctions and standalone donations, will be centralised into a specific MotoGP donation system thanks to our collaboration with CaixaBank.

All MotoGP funds will then be donated to La Cruz Roja (Red Cross) who are working on the ground in the Community of Valencia, with the target of helping the towns closest to the circuit. To donate directly now, follow THIS LINK, and stay tuned for more information on the auction items up for grabs in aid of Valencia as we get closer to the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona.
