Jorge Martin took the MotoGP sprint win in Malaysian GP and got a step closer to title after crash for Francesco Bagnaia from second.
It was a clean start from Pramac Ducati’s Jorge Martin to lead the MotoGP sprint in Malaysian GP at Sepang circuit from title rival Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia, as Gresini Ducati’s Marc Marquez climbed up to third from the second row.
Ducati’s Enea Bastianini was up to fourth as well, but Gresini’s Alex Marquez had a drop to sixth while tussling with Pramac’s Franco Morbidelli. Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo was seventh from the KTM pair of Brad Binder and Jack Miller in the Top 9 points places.
GASGAS Tech’s Pedro Acosta was just outside in 10th from Yamaha’s Alex Rins. The biggest fall happened for Bagnaia with seven laps to go in the title fight. His Turn 9 crash opened up the championship for Martin, who continued to lead from M Marquez.
Bastianini was third from A Marquez and Quartararo, as Morbidelli dropped to sixth from the KTM triplet of Binder, Miller and Acosta in the Top 9 points places. Just outside, VR46 Ducati’s Marco Bezzecchi climbed up to 10th ahead of Rins.
LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco was forced to retire due to mechanical failure. At the front, Martin eased off to take the MotoGP sprint win in Malaysian GP and one step closer to the 2024 title with a healthy advantage of 29 points over Bagnaia.
M Marquez was second from Bastianini, A Marquez, Quartararo, Morbidelli, Binder, as Miller fended off Acosta in the fight for eighth, with the Spaniard rounding the Top 9 points places, where Bezzecchi missed by just.
