Marc Marquez took the MotoGP sprint win ahead of Alex Marquez, as Fermin Aldeguer also managed to pass Fabio Quartararo to third.

It was a good start from Yamaha’s Fabio Quatararo to lead the MotoGP sprint race in French GP at Le Mans, as he managed to fend off Ducati’s Marc Marquez and Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez’s charge for the lead. Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia cleared Gresini’s Fermin Aldeguer for fourth.

Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi was sixth ahead of KTM’s Pedro Acosta, Tech 3 KTM’s Maverick Vinales and KTM’s Brad Binder in the Top 9 points places, as Pramac Yamaha’s Jack Miller dropped back to 10th. Even before things got settled, Bagnaia crashed out at Turn 3 after a fall at the left-hander.

Bezzecchi had a wide moment to drop the back of the field, as Binder crashed out from points. The positions outside the Top 4 changed massively after Acosta rode up to fifth from Vinales. LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco was up to seventh from Yamaha’s Alex Rins.

VR46 Ducati’s Fabio di Giannantonio was up to ninth as well, as teammate Franco Morbidelli dropped to the back of the field as well. At the front, M Marquez started to pressure Quartararo and despite resistance, the Frenchman lost the French GP lead to the Spaniard.

A Marquez passed him couple of laps later, as Aldeguer started to push Quartararo as well. But the defence was in vain after the Gresini rider toughed it out against the Yamaha man. At the front, M Marquez took the MotoGP sprint win in French GP to extend his points lead.

A Marquez was second from Aldeguer and Quartararo. Acosta was set to finish fifth but he crashed out in the final part of the circuit on the final lap. He re-joined to end up 19th. His fall allowed Vinales to be fifth from Zarco, di Giannantonio, Rins and Honda’s Joan Mir in the Top 9 points places.
