Czech GP, Marc Marquez, MotoGP

Marc Marquez took the MotoGP sprint win in Czech GP amid dramas for both the Ducati riders, ahead of Pedro Acosta and Enea Bastianini.

It was slightly cloudy to start MotoGP sprint in Czech GP at Brno, as Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia started well to lead initially, but Marc Marquez took the lead from the Italian, as Yahama’s Fabio Quartararo steadied in third ahead of KTM’s Pedro Acosta.

Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi was fifth from Trakchouse Aprilia’s Raul Fernandez, Aprilia’s Jorge Martin, Tech 3 KTM’s Enea Bastianini and LCR Honda’s Johann Zarco in the Top 9 points places. It was disaster for the likes of Honda’s Joan Mir to drop last in the order after from Top 5 start.

Both Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez and VR46 Ducati’s Fabio di Giannantonio dropped down the order too. There was a slide for Yamaha wildcard Augusto Fernandez, where he took LCR’s Takaaki Nakagami along with him. M Marquez, meanwhile, led the way from Bagnaia, as Acosta was third.

He cleared Quartararo, who had a hit from Bezzecchi. The Italian tried a move but the door was not there. The Aprilia rider dropped places, which allowed Bastianini to climb up the order in fifth. Bezzecchi had to fight Fernandez to regain the track position he lost.

Just behind, Martin tried to fend off Zarco, but he couldn’t hold him off. Midway in the sprint, Bagnaia dropped back to fifth due to suspected tyre pressure issues. He lost fifth to Bezzecchi, as Marquez dropped behind Acosta himself to keep the tyre pressure in check.

It handed Acosta the lead of Czech GP sprint from Marquez, as Bastianini was up to third after managing to clear Quartararo. The Frenchman lost to Bezzecchi as well, who recovered after an early blip. At the fag end of points, Tech 3’s Pol Espargaro cleared Martin for the final point in ninth.

Di Giannantonio crashed out, as Marquez regained the lead after running few laps behind Acosta. He took the MotoGP sprint win in Czech GP but was under pressure still. Acosta was second from Bastianini in KTM 203, as Bezzecchi was fourth from Quartararo.

Fernandez managed to clear Bagnaia for sixth, as Zarco and Espargaro rounded out the Top 9 points places, with KTM’s Brad Binder missing out just, while Martin was 11th on his return. Just as they celebrated on podium, Marquez was cleared of tyre pressure infringement, to keep the sprint win.
