Dorna Sports has inked a new deal to bring back Czech GP on the MotoGP calendar from 2025 season, as Pol Espargaro is set for another wildcard.
MotoGP is delighted to confirm a return to the iconic Automotodrom Brno. Recognised as an all-time classic for fans and riders alike, the Czech venue will welcome the world’s most exciting sport back for the next five seasons, from 2025 to 2029 inclusive. The city of Brno has staged more than 50 Grands Prix since first hosting MotoGP in 1965, establishing itself as a true destination for fans of two wheels.
Events were initially held on a street circuit in the area before the Automotodrom Brno debuted on the calendar in 1987, going on to host MotoGP every year until 2020 barring a one-year break in 1992. Now, 2025 begins a new chapter in a long and illustrious history of racing in Brno as the Czech GP returns to the MotoGP calendar until 2029 inclusive.

For the third time in 2024, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Test Rider Pol Espargaro is set for a wildcard MotoGP appearance, with the Spaniard set to join the premier class grid at Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini. The #44 – following his weekends on track at Mugello and the Red Bull Ring – will race KTM’s latest RC16 spec at the first of two Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli events, a circuit he’s claimed two MotoGP podiums at, including in 2020 aboard a KTM machine.
Pol Espargaro: “Mugello meant we could come back to MotoGP speed and then we felt much more competitive at Red Bull Ring where we had made a lot of testing laps. Misano is another familiar circuit and I’m happy to get back onto the grid after the work we made at Austria. We need to reconfirm some data in race conditions and also do what we can to help the guys – Brad and Jack – with their settings for the two GPs we have there.”
