MotoGP to showcase demonstration at the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix

The United States Formula 1 Grand Prix, taking place in Austin this weekend, will host a MotoGP demonstration. This activity aims to present the motorcycle championship to a broader North American audience.

Four MotoGP prototypes will take to the Circuit of the Americas, which is already part of the MotoGP calendar, and will perform an exhibition during the Saturday program, embodying the essence of motorcycle racing.

A unique opportunity

According to a statement from the championship, this collaboration between F1 and MotoGP is considered “a historic step for global motorsport”. This will be the first time MotoGP is present during a Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, with an expected audience exceeding 400,000 people.

Featured riders

The riders participating in the demonstration include Dani Pedrosa, a member of the MotoGP Hall of Fame and current KTM rider, in addition to Nicolo Bulega, the current WorldSBK champion with Ducati. Also taking part in the exhibition are Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha) and Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia), who will showcase the speed and sound of the bikes, which can generate over 130 decibels.

The demonstration will last 20 minutes and will take place before the third F1 practice session, which begins at 11:40 AM local time on Saturday.

Additional activities

Alongside the on-track action, MotoGP will have a dedicated space in its Fan Zone throughout the weekend, where the four bikes will be on display. The riders will be present from Thursday to Sunday, offering fans the opportunity to connect with the championship as the 2027 United States Grand Prix approaches, scheduled for April 23-25.

Pedrosa has emphasized the excitement of riding at the Circuit of the Americas, one of the most iconic tracks in the world, and the impact the event has on the audience. “The speed, the sound, and the performance of these bikes are experiences that must be lived in person,” he stated.

It seems that Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP, may also attend, having previously participated in the F1 Grand Prix in Spain, waving the checkered flag as a guest of the Liberty Media executives.
