Edoardo Mortara is in a class of his own. The Italian set the pole position ahead of his 7 manufacture team mates, which completed the dominance of Audi this qualifying session for DTM Race 1 at Budapest.
The qualifying started with a great lap from Nico Müller (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) who was leading ahead his manufactures mates, Mortara, Ekström, Scheider, and Molina in a one-two-three-four-five Audi domination like the prior practice session.
A few minutes later the Audi dominance was extended when the first stint concluded, Mortara (Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline) was who took the provisional pole position in front of Müller, Molina, Ekström, Scheider and Rockenfeller.
In the second stint and final minutes, Audi showed really strong and we saw Jamie Green (Audi Sport Team Rosberg) taking the pole position over Mortara. But the Italian reacted to the British lap and finally took the pole position by 0.082 seconds.
It was all about Audi who have put his eight cars on top8. The best Mercedes was Felix Rosenqvist on ninth position while, Wittmann was the best for BMW on tenth place.
