Charles Leclerc dropped Lewis Hamilton to second in FP2 of F1 Monaco GP, with Fernando Alonso rounding the Top 3.

The weather remained dry in FP2 as well in F1 Monaco GP even though there was clouds and overcast situation. But it didn’t deter Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who kept his pace and nose tight ahead all-through the session with a 1m11.278s lap.

But Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton came close to him after his 1m11.466s lap, with Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso also putting up his name in the hat with a 1m11.753s lap. Red Bull continued to perish with Max Verstappen in fourth.

The Dutchman didn’t feel good as his teammate Sergio Perez, with Verstappen had a brush with the wall much like Williams’ Logan Sargeant, Visa Cash App RB’s Yuki Tsunoda and McLaren’s Oscar Piastri during the course of the session.

McLaren’s Lando Norris was fifth from Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, who couldn’t match with Leclerc. Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll was seventh from other Red Bull of Perez, with Williams’ Alexander Albon and Mercedes’ George Russell rounding the Top 10.

Albon complained of losing grip, as did Russell, as Tsunoda and Piastri ended up 11th and 12th without a fast time on the soft tyere. They elected to run the medium compound as did Daniel Ricciardo and the Stake F1 Team pair.

The first Haas of Kevin Magnussen was 13th with Nico Hulkenberg in 15th behind Alpine’s Esteban Ocon. His teammate Pierre Gasly was 17th behind Daniel Ricciardo, as Sargeant, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu rounded out the 20 runners.
