#17 Miguel Molina, Audi RS5 DTM, #3 Paul Di Resta, Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM, #22 Lucas Auer, Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM

Miguel Molina claims pole position for Audi at Lausitzring ahead of Jamie Green and Marco Wittmann for BMW. First Mercedes is Robert Wickens in P4.

Lucas Auer, the quickest in FP1 yesterday went out first on track but it’s the Audis who set the pace first with Nico Müller, the fastest in FP2, topping the times first with a 1:17.330 before Tom Blomqvist and Mike Rockenfeller went quicker.

Like in Free-practice, BMW were struggling to find the pace compared to Audi and Mercedes except Marco Wittman who managed to stay in top 3 for the first part in the session. Timo Glock was put under investigation for blocking and would be reported to the stewards after the meeting.

Halfway through the session, Miguel Molina led by 1:16.619 ahead of Wittman and Mattias Ekström, Lucas Auer P4 being the fastest Mercedes. Bruno Spengler went out on track for the first time with nine minutes to go and benefited of a clear track ahead of him.

With five minutes remaining on the clock, most cars went out again for their last flying lap. Robert Wickens managed to get into the top 3 with a 1:16.792 while most drivers had to deal with traffic problems before Jamie Green went P2, less than one tenth slower than Molina.

Miguel Molina claims pole position ahead of Jamie Green and Marco Wittmann. Wickens, Auer, Vietoris, Ekström, Martin, Tambay and Müller complete the top 10.
