Mercedes sent its F1 car amid a convoy of supercars to surprise a 3-year-old boy who is dying of cancer and can’t be at British GP.

Morgan Ridler was diagnosed with a complex form of cancer at the age of 2-years-old in October 2021 and his parents Natalia and Matthew have been told his treatment is not working. A Morgan’s Army Charitable Foundation has been set-up.

They have collected more than £20,000 has been raised via online crowdfunding for him and his family. A special supercar event was held at Asda Gorseinon from where they moved to Frampton Road which ended at Swansea Airport.

The supercar event had the Mercedes F1 car in attendance too. The team planned to invite the family for the British GP weekend at Silverstone, but considering the present health condition of Morgan, the doctors have advised him that he cannot travel.

This is why Mercedes decided to send a message from the drivers and also the car. “It was a fantastic turnout today with the super cars and people given their time up, especially midweek,” said Tony Curtis, the founder and chairman of Dreams & Wishes.

“I’m really pleased we did it mid week because sadly he has deteriorated quite a lot – I’m pleased we did it now and made an experience and hopefully treasured memories for the family. Today just shows how important Wales is.

“I think as a Welsh community we come together in these circumstances, and people came from outside Wales too. Seeing Morgan smile just as he was about to get into the plane was fantastic – that’s what it is about.”
