A new encouraging turn for DTM driver Maximilian Paul, who suffered a serious accident during the competition at Norisring last Saturday. The young driver has been discharged from Nuremberg hospital, as confirmed by his team led by Gottfried Grasser.
After suffering fractures to his tibia, fibula, and a vertebral fracture, Paul left the hospital with hopes of recovering soon. His partner, Patricija Stalidzane, shared a picture on Instagram showing him standing at the main entrance of the clinic, holding the crutches above his head, with one foot wrapped in bandages but without a cast.
This picture has illuminated optimism among the driver’s followers, who had already seen him in a hospital room with a smile. “I will take a break to take care of my health, but I will come back stronger,” Paul declared on Monday after the accident.
The future of Paul and his Lamborghini
His return to competition is uncertain in the short term, as the injuries require time to heal. Although there has been speculation about a possible return at the end of the season, it would be a big challenge given the current state of his recovery.
Regarding Paul’s car, his Lamborghini Temerario sustained considerable damage to the front after the accident. An initial examination has indicated that repair is possible, but the team leader has expressed uncertainty about the availability of the necessary parts for repair within the appropriate timeframes.
Recoveries in progress
At the same time, BMW driver Kelvin van der Linde, who was also involved in the accident, is already training at the Red Bull Athlete Performance Center to prepare for his own return after minor injuries.
The motorsport community is closely following Paul’s progress, hoping he can return to the track soon and continue competing at the highest level.
