Felipe Massa was the fastest of in the morning of the first day of the second week of testing in Barcelona.
The pre-season testing of F1 returned in Barcelona this morning with Felipe Massa’s fastest time after skipping the last day of testing last week. The Brazilian set a time in 1:19.726 and was the only one with Daniel Ricciardo to have gone under the 1:20 today.
In third position was Lewis Hamilton who was rather constant with his 49 laps before leaving the wheel to Valtteri Bottas for the afternoon. Joylon Palmer will also step off from the car with only 15 laps completed following an engine problem.
McLaren also suffered from problems with the Honda engine, forcing Vandoorne to stop after 34 laps to change the engine. Pascal Wehrlein for Sauber started his season after his injury last week and completed 47 laps which was rather average compared to the rest of the field.
