Marc Marquez, San Marino MotoGP. 10th September 2016

Honda continues in the lead of MotoGP this weekend at Aragon with Marc Márquez who set the fastest lap in the third practice session, where we saw a lot of crashes.

The session started with many crashes and an amazing pace from Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) who took the lead early on with a 1:47.810, followed by Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) in the standings.

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) in his out lap crashed at turn 10. Alex Lowes (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Álvaro Bautista (Aprillia Gresini Racing) crashed as well due to the low tyre temperatures.

A few minutes later, Pol Espargaró (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) crashed at turn 2 and his motorbike contacted with Danilo Petrucci (Octo Pramac Yannick), hopefully both riders were ok.

The 2007 champion, Nicky Hayden is returning to the series to replace Jack Miller in Estrella Galicia 0.0 Marc VDS. The American crashed as well at turn 14, and when the marshals were helping the rider when after a few seconds, Márquez crashed as well and contacted with Pol Espargaró who crashed as well.

As usual the battle to get the direct access to Q2 started in the last 3 minutes, so the Suzuki Ecstar of Viñales and Aleix Espargaró improved, as well as Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP). In the last moment Redding (Octo Pramac Yannick) beat Hector Barberá (AVintia Racing) to get the final spot to Q2.

At the end this are the riders who get a direct access to Q2: Marc Márquez, Cal Crutcholw, Maverick Viñales, Jorge Lorenzo, Aleix Espargaró, Dani Pedrosa, Scott redding, Andrea Dovizioso, Valentino Rossi and Pol Espargaró.
