Márquez leads the first Honda one-two in Germany

Marc Márquez took an important victory in Sachsenring, earning his second win of the season, that helps him in his comeback for title fight. Pedrosa and Rossi rounded out the podium.


The GoPro Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland showed the pace that Honda was looking for during all season long. The Honda who before the race had a good pace with the asymmetric tyre but both, Marquez and Pedrosa decided to race with the Hard compound, which was the key for the first one-two of the season for Repsol Honda.

Márquez in a class of his own

Marc Márquez showed an unstoppable pace to win the race with a 4 seconds of margin over Dani Pedrosa. The reigning world-champion started from pole position but he lost the first place on the start.

He immediately overtook the Spanish Jorge Lorenzo and escaped to win the race, his second of the season.

Pedrosa confirms the Honda performance

Dani Pedrosa hasn’t a peaceful race like Márquez but his technical riding makes him finished on the second step of the podium.

He took the first place at turn 1 at the start, but one corner later, he drop to third place. Laps later Rossi overtook him too. But at the half of the race, the Catalan advance the Yamaha and finished on an important second place that helps Márquez in his comeback for the championship.

Not a good tyre choose for Yamaha

The Yamaha’s showed a great pace in the early laps with Lorenzo leading the way. But the Spanish couldn’t keep the rhythm of the podium finishers. A fourth place is the highest of this year fourth-time winner.

Valentino Rossi was the best Yamaha, but the intelligent strategy of Pedrosa makes him finish on third place.
