Prema is delighted to announce another exciting new addition to the team’s 2017 Formula 4 line-up. New Zealander Marcus Armstrong, who was recently selected by the Ferrari Driver Academy, will join the Prema roster for a double full-time program in both the Italian and the German F4 championships.
Born in Christchurch, the 16-year-old driver will face his first full season in single seaters. After achieving considerable success in karting at home, Armstrong made the step up to Formula Ford and enjoyed a first taste of Formula Renault and British Formula 3 racing last year. The 2017 season already highlighted his skills at home with three wins and eight podium finishes achieved en-route to a 4th place in the Toyota Racing Series.
A committed racer, Armstrong also sampled touring car competition in the Toyota GT86 championship in New Zealand, achieving several wins and showcasing great adaptability.
