Tony Kart veteran driver, Marco Ardigò, dominated every moment of the KZ2 Final in the 2nd round of WSK Super Master Series held in Sarno (Italy). Giuseppe Palomba and Simo Puhakka completed the podium.
In the start of the race, Ardigò and Ippolito began very well the Final, without problems. But in the middle of the group there were some incidents and three drivers had to retire. Behind Ardigò and Ippolito, Iacovacci positioned 3rd, Palomba 4th and Leuillet 5th. Race leader had to defend his position since the first lap because Ippolito pace was very fast.
Two laps after, Ardigò and Ippolito achieved a gap of more than one second between them and Palomba, the 3rd classified. In this laps, there were moments that Ardigò was faster than Ippolito, but in others Ippolito was faster than Italian driver
In the fifth lap, Palomba began to reduce the gap with Ippolito. Meanwhile, Ardigò’s team mate, Simo Puhakka, overtook Leuillet and he positioned 5th.
Three laps after that, Palomba overpaced Ippolito. Intrepid driver [Palomba] realized this manoeuvre on the limit and he couldn’t avoid to touch Ippolito’s kart. However, none of the two drivers were damaged for this and Palomba apologised to Ippolito.
On the last six laps of the race, Ardigò was situated more than one second in front of Palomba. Ippolito was overtook by Iacovacci in the finish line. Immediately after, Puhakka also overpaced Ippolito in the exit of the corner. Two laps after, Ippolito lost the control of his kart and went to the run off area. He returned to the track in 7th position
On the last six laps of the race, Iacovacci lost a tyre when he was 3rd and had to retire. Two laps after, Marco Ardigò won the Final with a second and a half of advantage over Giuseppe Palomba, who finished 2nd. Simo Puhakka completed the podium. Out of the podium, Tom Leuillet was 4th, Bas Lammers 5th -after come back from the 12th position- and Paolo Ippolito could finish in the 6th position.
