After securing his first victory of the year at the Brazilian Grand Prix, Marc Márquez has confessed that he still feels far from his best level, the one that led him to win the MotoGP title in 2025.
The Ducati Team rider capitalized on a mistake by Fabio di Giannantonio, who was leading the race, to secure victory in a competition held in Goiania. This victory marks a turning point, as it has been six months since his last reason to celebrate on track.
After months of uncertainty due to a shoulder injury sustained during the Indonesian Grand Prix, Márquez has acknowledged that, despite the success, he hasn’t felt comfortable on the bike. “I would like to see the race replay because during the competition I felt quite strange. It’s not like last year, where I felt relaxed and comfortable,” he explained.
Regarding his physical condition, Márquez has admitted that he struggles to adapt to the demands of the bike. “I am tense, not relaxed, and that makes me uneasy,” he said. Additionally, he emphasized that the adjustments to the bike made for the race have not been entirely satisfactory, and he hopes to reintegrate better into riding over time.
This 2026 has presented a more intense competition compared to previous years, especially with teams like Aprilia gaining strength. Marco Bezzecchi and Raúl Fernández have proven to be powerful rivals, winning three of the last four races. This new dynamic means that Márquez not only has to regain his physical form but also adapt to a more demanding competitive environment.
