Marc Márquez, rider of the Ducati Team, shared an impromptu reflection after his performance in the sprint of the Italian Grand Prix. One of the highlights for him was being able to write his post-race notes by hand, a gesture that symbolizes the improvement of his health after complications from nerve damage in his right arm.

Although the comment had a light tone, Márquez pointed out that his ability to hold a pen was a good sign for his recovery. After being absent for two races due to surgery on his arm, he returned to the track, although he acknowledges that he does not feel at the peak of his abilities.

In the 11-lap race at Mugello, Márquez fought for a prominent spot, finishing in fifth place. Additionally, he briefly led the competition but finished nearly 10 seconds behind the winner, Raúl Fernández.

After the sprint, Márquez told the media that, although he felt better, he still experienced a lack of energy during the race. “The most positive thing for me is having been able to write the notes when I finished the sprint. Before, in the last races, I couldn’t do it because my hand was shaking. That means the nerve is returning to normal,” he said.

With the aim of competing in the full race of the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, Márquez is aware that he will have to manage his expectations. “Right now, driving is a real effort. I’m not enjoying the bike in these conditions. The priority is to improve for the future and enjoy it when I’m really ready,” he added.

His team manager, Davide Tardozzi, has stressed the importance of avoiding further injuries, reminding the rider that the Mugello circuit can be tricky for those who are not at 100%. “I don’t need any more injuries,” Márquez said in reference to his team’s warnings.
