Marc Márquez leads the first day of the GP of Germany with three Ducatis in the top four

Marc Márquez has finished the first practice session of the Grand Prix of Germany at the top of the standings, with three Ducati riders occupying the top spots. The current MotoGP champion achieved an impressive time of 1m19.394s with his Ducati, surpassing Raul Fernandez of Aprilia by 0.166 seconds, in a session marked by an intense exchange of leads between these two Italian brands.

From the start of the one-hour session, Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia set the pace, quickly eliminating Fernandez’s FP1 record and establishing a new mark of 1m20.646s. This allowed him to stay slightly ahead of the Ducatis of Márquez and Alex Márquez, while Fernandez occupied fourth position.

The standings remained stable until halfway through the session, at which point Bezzecchi managed to improve his time, thus extending his advantage. However, the situation changed in the final minutes, with Fabio Di Giannantonio of VR46 achieving a rapid 1m20.104s to momentarily take the lead.

Alex Márquez also improved to place himself close to Bezzecchi, while Marc Márquez came into action standing out with an excellent lap with 14 minutes to go, becoming the first to record a time below 1m20s.

Di Giannantonio regained the top spot, but it was Márquez who ultimately closed the day with the best time, a final lap of 1m19.394s that granted him a 0.166s advantage over Fernandez, who was his main pursuer in second place.

Rider Jack Miller finished with the fifth-best time for Pramac Yamaha, while Bezzecchi, Ai Ogura, and Jorge Martín followed in the immediately subsequent positions. The big surprise of the day was Francesco Bagnaia, who finished in 13th position, behind riders like Enea Bastianini and Brad Binder.

The next session promises to be just as exciting with the tight standings, highlighting intense competition between the two Italian brands and the quest for pole position in the upcoming practices.
