Marc Marquez leads the practice of the German GP with Ducati dominance

The German GP has started strongly for Marc Marquez, who has taken the lead in Friday’s practice session. The Ducati rider set a record time of 1m19.394s, surpassing his closest rival, Raul Fernandez of Trackhouse Aprilia, by 0.166 seconds.

The one-hour session began with Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia, who quickly took the lead with a time of 1m20.646s. This record put him ahead of the Ducatis of Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez, with Fernandez initially in fourth place.

By mid-session, Bezzecchi managed to clock a new time, keeping him at the forefront until the final stretch, when Fabio Di Giannantonio of VR46 set a new record with a 1m20.104s.

With only 14 minutes remaining, Marquez achieved his best time, becoming the first to go under the minute and 20 seconds. However, Di Giannantonio quickly regained the lead position with an impressive 1m19.674s.

Alex Marquez also adjusted his time, getting ever closer to Bezzecchi, before Marquez ultimately dominated the leaderboard with a final effort that left him with a 0.150s advantage over Fernandez, who finished second.

Riders Jack Miller and Ai Ogura completed the initial quintet, while Pedro Acosta, despite a good start with KTM, had to settle for ninth place. Curiously, Francesco Bagnaia, the current MotoGP champion, finished far from the front positions, qualifying in thirteenth.

The competition promises to be intense as the riders prepare for qualifying and the race, with the battle between Ducati and Aprilia highlighted as one of the most anticipated of the championship.
