Zane Maloney will make his FIA F2 debut with Trident in the 2022 season finale in Abu Dhabi replacing Calan Williams.
Trident Motorsport is pleased to announce that at the final round of the FIA Formula 2 Championship in Abu Dhabi the line-up will consist of Richard Verschoor and Zane Maloney. For the driver from Barbados, it will be the debut in the superior category at the end of a brilliant year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with the colors of Trident Motorsport, in which the nineteen-year-old from Bridgetown took the place of honor thanks to three wins, four podiums and two pole positions missing the title by just five points.
The technical staff of Trident Motorsport is pleased to have once again on board a driver with whom he has achieved excellent goals and will provide him with maximum support so that he can quickly learn the secrets of the new category.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: “We are very proud to be able to compete with Zane Maloney in the final event in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Zane, the Barbadian driver, terminated the Formula 3 Championship with three consecutive feature race victories and has proven to be second to no one in terms of competitiveness, almost winning the driver’s title.
“We are therefore pleased to have Zane on board, once again this year, and we are confident that Trident will be able to provide him with the maximum support and dedication for the challenging Yas Marina Circuit.”
