Geobrugg has shared details about the renovations made at Lusail International Circuit ahead of next weekend’s F1 Qatar GP.

The Lusail International Circuit has been under going renovations and facility upliftment in the past year to be ready for this year’s F1 Qatar GP. Those are now complete with Swiss company Geobrugg undertaking the work at various parts of the huge facility.

A new grandstand has been erected at Turn 2 along with a hub of fun at the Fan Zone over the 2.5 kilometers of debris fence. It improves view without compromising safety with additional big screens installed at various points for better vieweing.

Mobile debries fences has been erected at Turn 2 and Turn 10 to create shortcuts with marshal post safety enhanced too. Digital flag panels have been installed along with advanced lighting system for better visibility for the F1 drivers.

The work was done under the supervision of both the FIA and FIM as the Lusail circuit hosts both F1 and MotoGP championships. ‘We are expecting large number of fans to attend Qatar GP, that said spectator safety is of paramount importance to us. We have ensured to incorporate highest levels of safety measures on the track,” said Amro Al Hamad, CEO of Lusail International Circuit and Executive Director of Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation.

At the same time Jochen Braunwarth, Director Motorsport Solutions, Geobrugg added: “We’re incredibly proud to add the Lusail International Circuit to the growing list of Grand Prix venues that are adopting our debris fence solutions. As a venue, Lusail is going from strength to strength, adding a combination of car and bike racing to its portfolio, so it was vital the circuit had the best fencing safety.”
