Luke Hilton, driver for the ADM team, has revealed his potential in the two days of pre-season tests for GB4 held at Donington Park. Hilton set the overall best time with a record of 1m28.546s, surpassing Thomas Ingram Hill from Fortec Motorsports by just 0.057 seconds.
During the initial session, Hilton established a record with a best time of 1m28.763s, leading Douglas Motorsport drivers Jason Smyth and Dayton Coulthard by over 0.2 seconds. Although he did not improve his initial mark in the following sessions, he maintained first place in the next three sessions on Wednesday.
His best lap of 1m29.088s was more than 0.5 seconds faster than Alex O’Grady from KMR Sport during the second session, while in the third and fourth, seven hours later, he maintained his advantage over Ingram Hill and Connor Willis.
On Thursday, his superiority was reaffirmed when he clocked 1m28.745s in the fifth round, placing him ahead of Coulthard and Ingram Hill. Despite a slight drop to fourth place in the sixth session, where Franciszek Cegielski from Fortec surpassed O’Grady and Ingram Hill, Hilton quickly regained the lead with his fastest lap of the test in the seventh session.
Fred Green from Elite Motorsport managed to set the best time in the eighth session, relegating O’Grady to fourth place. Drivers Smyth and Coulthard finished in sixth and seventh positions, respectively, without improving their times from the initial session.
In the days leading up to the tests, Enzo Hallman, returning to GB4 with Hillspeed, also confirmed his intention to compete in the new season. Hallman, who finished ninth last year with Douglas, highlighted his motivation to win a championship with the new team.
