Sacha Fenestraz has taken his second victory of the season in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 at Estoril, Portugal. Tech 1 Racing driver dominated the race after start from the pole position. Norris and Defourny completes the podium.
The final race of the year was declared on a wet track, despite the sun at Circuito do Estroril. So almost the whole field started with wet tyres, with Sacha Fenestraz (Tech 1 Racing) starting from pole position.
The franco-argentine driver kept the lead at the start after a great start from Henrique Chavez (AVF) who took second position. Anyway the Portuguese driver saw how Defourny (R-ace GP) and Norris (Josef Kaufmann Racing) overtook him for second and third position.
Then both top driver’s battled for second position with a drying track. The champion, Lando Norris managed after several laps to overtake the Belgian for second position.
Then Tech 1 Racing cars were fighting with AVF cars. Dorian Boccolacci managed to overtook Chaves for fourth position, while De Sadeleer retook seventh position after overtake Harrison Scott.
Following the British, the big group was led by Marcus Armstrong (R-ace GP) who was ninth. The wild-card didn’t had enough pace today and had to defend the whole race from his team mate Julein Falchero. But team mates didn’t managed the pressure from Bruno Baptista (Fortec Motorsports), who took ninth position at the latest minutes of the race.
But nothing stopped Fenestraz who took his second victory in the series ahead of Norris and Deforuny. The Belgian driver thanks to this position managed to finish third in the standings, just behind Boccolacci. Josef Kaufmann Racing took the team’s title.
