Lia Block has announced her return to the rally world, aiming to compete in the American Rally Association National Championship in 2026, driving a Hyundai i20 N Rally2. The former F1 Academy driver expresses her excitement for this new challenge after her previous experience in single-seaters.
After making her debut in the American Rally Association in 2021 and achieving a full-time role in 2022, Block became the youngest champion in the Open Two-Wheel-Drive category by winning the title in 2023 at the age of 16.
Despite the change in discipline and her recent experience with the Williams Racing single-seaters at the F1 Academy, Block has decided to return to rallies instead of continuing in this category. “I am moving up to class RC2 in a Hyundai Rally2, and it is very exciting for me,” Block states.
Block has expressed her determination to compete to win the championship, acknowledging that rally is an unpredictable sport, where every detail counts until the last moment. “I enjoy facing new challenges, and even though it will be a year full of competition, I am ready to showcase my talent,” she adds.
Additionally, the driver mentions that she hopes to enjoy the learning process while racing, as she has found pleasure in rally competitions over the past years. This change marks a new stage for Lia Block in her sports career.
