Lewis Wherrell achieves his first victory in British F4 at Snetterton

#10 - Lewis Wherrell - JHR Developments

Lewis Wherrell has claimed his first victory in the British Formula 4 in the opening race this weekend at Snetterton, following an absolute dominance from start to finish.

The JHR Developments driver set an impeccable rhythm, with a lead of over two seconds over his rivals, Scott Kin Lindblom and Dries Van Langendonck, who fought hard for the second position.

Wherrell got an exceptional start, holding firm at the front while Van Langendonck passed Theo Palmer to take third place.

Behind, Tommy Harfield found himself in the middle of the battle just outside the top 10 when Timo Jungling attempted to overtake him at the first corner. A slight contact between the two drivers sent Harfield off the track and into the safety barriers.

Meanwhile, Kit Belofsky was in trouble at the last corner, damaging his front wing and almost colliding with Henry Mercier. Additionally, Mate Kobakhidze also had difficulties and stopped on the track.

With the need to clear the track after Harfield’s accident, the safety car was deployed. Belofsky and Mercier took the opportunity to make a pit stop for repairs.

The race resumed with eight minutes remaining. Van Langendonck immediately pressured Lindblom, but this allowed Wherrell to extend his lead at the front. The two drivers continued their battle, unable to impede the leader’s progress, who made no mistakes in the final moments of the race.

Van Langendonck tried to attack Lindblom but could not overtake him and had to settle for third place.

Joseph Smith finished fourth, followed by George Proudford-Nalder, who faced strong pressure from Palmer during the final moments of the race. Ethan Lennon ended up seventh, followed by Ethan Jeff-Hall, Adam Al Azhari, and Jarrett Clark.
