Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula 1 champion, has showcased the first images of his new four-legged companion, a golden retriever puppy named Halo, during his summer competition break.
After an intense first half of the 2026 season, where he achieved his first victory with Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix and a series of podiums, the British driver is using this time to rest and enjoy Halo.
The puppy was acquired from Goldiva Goldens, a breeder in the United States. The shipment of Halo to Los Angeles, to be with Hamilton, was confirmed by the company itself on social media, where a photo of the dog wearing a racing helmet was shown.
Goldiva Goldens commented: “We are excited to bring Miss Halo to Los Angeles for Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton. Dog trainer, Kirstin McMillian, flew to Maine to assist with her adaptation.” McMillian had previously worked with other dogs of Hamilton, including his English bulldog, Roscoe, who went missing last year.
It is not yet known if Halo will accompany Hamilton during race weekends, but if so, she will meet Leo, the popular long-haired dachshund of Hamilton’s team-mate, Charles Leclerc.
Although the news about Halo’s arrival had already circulated on social media, Hamilton has recently shared images of her on his personal accounts. The driver posted an album of photos and videos with Halo, showing him playing with her.
So far, the post has received 1.7 million ‘likes’ and over 20,000 shares on Instagram. Goldiva Goldens responded to the post, stating: “We are glad you are spending quality time with your pet. Puppy breath is wonderful!”
Currently, Hamilton is in second place in the drivers’ standings, 50 points behind the championship leader, Kimi Antonelli.
