Marco Bezzecchi, rider of the Aprilia Racing team, has assured that he is improving after the injuries sustained at Sachsenring, although he has acknowledged that the accumulation of fluid in his knee may cause him “sufferings” during the MotoGP Grand Prix of Aragón.
Almost two months ago, Bezzecchi suffered a hard accident that caused him a fractured collarbone and a knee injury, complicating his aspirations in the championship. The summer break allowed him to undergo surgery without having to miss more races, and two weeks after his return to Silverstone, his injuries had more time to heal.
Despite this, the Italian has still not achieved a complete recovery before the race this weekend at MotorLand Aragón. At Silverstone, he demonstrated that he could effectively compete, achieving a double podium and climbing to second place in the championship despite the pain.
The Aragón circuit, usually favorable for Ducati, with six bikes on the grid, will pose a greater challenge for Bezzecchi. Commenting on his condition, he said that while his scapula is evolving positively, his left knee remains a significant obstacle.
“The knee is what worries me the most right now, because the injury needs time to heal and riding with it is not the best solution to relieve the pain,” Bezzecchi expressed.
Moreover, the upcoming weekend will mark the beginning of an intense period, with ten races scheduled in just fourteen weekends. This load will leave little time for the rider to recover between races, especially during the competitions taking place in the Asia-Pacific region.
Bezzecchi has admitted that the knee, which required a separate surgery, will continue to cause him problems in upcoming races. “It will be complicated,” he said, “but I will do everything possible to keep competing and achieve the best possible results.”
