Charles Leclerc got pole position for tomorrow’s race in Bahrain with a great advantage over his rivals. His teammate in Prema, Antonio Fuoco, and Nyck de Vries completed the top 3.

Leclerc dominated from the beginning. He had a 0.2s advantage over Nato after his first attempt. Markelov was 3rd, 0.5s behind and ahead of Rowland and Fuoco. With his second attempt, Fuoco went up to P2, less than a tenth of a second behind his teammate. The top 5 before the last attempt was: Leclerc, Fuoco, Nato, Ghiotto and Markelov.

Leclerc was the only driver on track when he improved his own time by 6 tenths. He went back to the pits 10 minutes before the end of the session, while the other drivers went back on track and needed two laps to warm up the tyres. Jeffri et Malja crashed, which definitely hindered the rest of the drivers to improve the already magnificent pole time by Leclerc. Behind the Monegasque driver, Fuoco, De Vries, Nato, Ghiotto, Matsushita, Markelov, Rowland, Albon and Sette Câmara completed the top 10.
