Charles Leclerc says Frederic Vasseur has changed the thinking of Ferrari F1 team since joining and he is certain they will benefits from it.

Both the Ferrari drivers Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have never left a chance to credit Vasseur for his work done at Maranello in a short period of time. While the results have dipped again, the Frenchman has made his mark certainly with changes onboard.

Ever since his arrival, there has been personnel changes across the board. They will announce another one post the summer break after the departure of Enrico Cardile. Despite the ups and downs, Leclerc has huge praise for Vasseur.

He reckons that the Frenchman is taking care of each individual which makes the difference and is taking the team in the direct direction. “I’ve always said that I 200% trust Fred and that he has brought a new mentality to the team, where he’s really taking care of each single individual within the team to try and extract and to put people in the best conditions possible in order to extract their maximum potential,” said Leclerc.

“This is Fred’s biggest strength, as well as being super good at analysing critical situations. It’s very easy sometimes in Formula 1 when things are going very wrong to put everything in the same basket and say: ‘Oh, my God, everything is everything we are doing is bad.’ However, Fred has a super good analysis on that and to pinpoint and to give the right directions to the team in those critical moments is super important.

“And I’m sure that we’ll see the benefits of it very soon,” summed up Leclerc, who also had good word for his former boss Mattia Binotto, who is to start his work at his former team Sauber which will convert to Audi from 2026 F1 season onward.

“A big part of Mattia’s life was in Switzerland as well,” noted Leclerc. “So I guess he knows very well the culture and that will fit him fit in well. And he can also take his previous experience on a team like Ferrari to benefit such a team for sure. So yeah, there’s definitely lots of things that he can bring from learning from his past experiences to a team like Sauber.”
