Charles Leclerc earned the best laptime in Belgium (2:04:896) by lowering the one that made Luca Ghiotto into pole position last year. Behind the Monegasque will start Hughes and De Vries.
Session started this morning with cold temperatures in ambient and as well in track. Cars started leaving the pitlane for the first laps at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
Comparing times with yesterday’s free practise, those were not lowered until mid-session. When 10 minutes were left for the qualifying, De Vries (ART Grand Prix), Hughes (DAMS) and Dennis (ARDEN International) were on top of the timetable.
Hughes climbed easily to the top, but not for so long as Leclerc (ART Grand Prix) lowered his time for three tenths. Ferrari Driver Academy took the pole position for the belgian round with a 2:04.896, second he takes this year.
