Liam Lawson grateful to Red Bull despite the tough moment, as he greets Visa Cash App RB well in his first post since the news.
While Yuki Tsunoda has posted in the colours of Visa Cash App RB and Red Bull when the news broke, Lawson has kept low profile for most part of the day. The Japanese driver is seemingly already at Milton Keynes to prepare for the rest of 2025 F1 season.
At the same time, Lawson has likely visited Faenza to re-connect with the Visa Cash App RB family. In a message on his Instagram, he has admitted to the tough moment, but is grateful to Red Bull for helping him where he is today as a F1 driver.
He has good words for Visa Cash App RB team as well. In the post, the Kiwi has shared some photos from his childhood when he dreamt of becoming a F1 driver. “Being a Red Bull Racing driver has been my dream since I was a kid, it’s what I’ve worked towards my whole life,” wrote Lawson.
“It’s tough, but I am grateful for everything that’s brought me to this point. To every one of you who’s stood by me, thank you for all the support it means the world. Thank you Visa Cash App RB for the warm welcome, I’m excited and ready to go to work at one of my favourite places,” summed up Lawson.
The Kiwi has faced shortest replacement record among all of his predecessor, to be shunted after only two races. Lawson has found support from racing community, while Red Bull consultant Helmut Marko has admitted in getting the move wrong.
“Yuki was too inconsistent,” said Marko to OE24. “That’s why we unanimously decided in favour of Lawson. But he wasn’t able to perform under the greater pressure, right from the first day in Australia. Then he went into a downward spiral. It’s like a battered boxer, it’s very difficult to get out of it. From that point of view, it was a mistake [to pick Liam].”
