Lando Norris has expressed his concern over the lack of respect for his privacy, following a disturbing experience in London where he was followed by paparazzi for 40 minutes. The recent Formula 1 champion of 2025 stated that this situation made him feel ‘violated’.
In a conversation with an English media outlet before the Belgian Grand Prix, Norris shared how his life has changed since winning the title, with an increase in his fame and media exposure. ‘I want to be able to go out, which doesn’t mean partying, but enjoying dinners and moments away from home,’ he claimed.
The McLaren driver acknowledged that his previous, more solitary lifestyle contrasted with the new attention on his movements. ‘I used to spend nights playing video games; now I go out with friends, but that requires a different behavior in public.’
Additionally, he detailed how he was chased during a trip with a friend. ‘I noticed that a paparazzi was following me the whole way, waiting to see who I was meeting. It’s the first time I’ve felt this way, with the impression that I can’t leave the house without being watched.’
Norris recognized that popularity comes with the profession, but called for clearly defined boundaries: ‘There are limits that I shouldn’t accept; following me as they did is simply weird.’
